How do I set up photoshop to work with a touch screen?

Hi,

I just bought a 15.6" Asus Q500A touchscreen laptop with Windows 8. I downloaded photoshop and the 'touch app plug-ins' through the Adobe Application Manager for creative cloud. When I open a file in PS and select the brush(or any other) tool if I use the touch screen to drag it accross the canvas nothing happens. It still works with my mouse though.

How can I get this to work properly?

Script alert: "Sorry I could not process the following files:"

I keep getting this error when I try to run the "Image Processor" Script.  I have tried searching everywhere to no avail.  I am running on Windows 7 and CS6.  What I have tried:

  • Increasing History States, Memory Usage, and Scratch Disks
  • Turning "Save in Background" on and off
  • Turning "Open Documents as Tabs" on and off
  • Deleting the Preset Scripts
  • Deleting the preferences file
  • Reinstalling Photoshop
  • Checked for updates
  • Tried to come in through Bridge, instead of Photoshop
  • Convert one photo instead of many.(all above was tested with one)

Working variations:  Using the image processor for PSD instead of JPG yields appropriate results.

Photoshop CC / Windows 8.1 HiDPI / Retina scaling support

Hi,  I am currently running the latest CC apps on a Windows 7 machine and am currently looking to upgrade my PC hardware, I have my eye on either the new Dell XPS15 with Haswell CPU/HiDPI screen (3200x1800 resolution) or the equivalent new Dell Precision m3800 when available in November with identical specs.  After testing a number Windows 8/8.1 systems over the last few days with Photoshop CC (14.1.2) It appears that Adobe has still yet to implement retina style UI scaling for any of it's CC apps for the Windows platform. They all seem to default to a predefined pixel font size. Potentially making Photoshop and other apps unusable on a 3200x1800 15.6" laptop screen if they do not scale like their Mac counterparts.  Can anyone confirm or elaborate on whether this feature exists for Adobe products on Windows yet, if it ever will or when it will become available in the near future?  Thanks

Changing image format of scanned drawing so that there will be no visible paper texture...?

Hi I am creating a comic book and am using Photoshop to color in the drawings that I do but the texture of the paper still shows...the obvious answer would be to get textureless paper but I'm wondering what's the best way to fix the ones I've done so far...I scanned the drawings in grayscale (The just 'black or white' setting on my scanner makes the images look all grainy even when at high ppi setting) and I just import the .jpeg file into Photoshop and choose the multiply transparency option. I can get the image to look really good in terms of the contrast of the b/w drawing and the colors that go between them but there is paper texture visible throughout the image and I'm wondering if there's a way to alter the b/w image so that the texture is removed but not to the point where it takes away from the actual detail of the drawing...?

CS5.5 photoshop and fonts issue

I have CS 5.5 creative master suite. I use it on my old computer window vista 32 bit  4 gig RAM no problem.

I just upgrade my brand new computer window 7 /  64 bit 8 gig of RAM,  intel(R) core (tm) i7-4770 CPU 3.4 Ghz, suppose to be much better and faster.

I install my CS5.5 creative master collection on my new computer, everything seem ok, except PhotoShop is very slow. I also recently install about 5 thousand fonts in my font folder.

and then Photoshop became extremely slow, for example when I move my mouse it takes about 30 second for the arrow to move.

any advice please help.

I also plan to install maximum RAM to 32 but it is expensive .

P.S. I follow the instruction to install fonts by drag and drop to font folder from control. Is this correct or there is a better way to install and manage fonts.

I know that there are other users that have a massive fonts suite , how do they manage it with out slow down the computer? (actually only photoshop is slow down, but everything else still fast)

AI is ok even with new added fonts .

Saved workspaces never work

I have a thunderbolt display monitor at work and at home that I plug my MacPro Retina into. Photoshop and After Effects never seem to be able to put my windows and palettes in the right place when I start them up. The layers palette for example is often off the screen. Why is it so hard for the program to know where my monitor positions are? I have to keep saving Work 1, Work 2, Work 3 etc.

I would like to thank Suman who i couldn't thank after my system crashed

Photoshop Help procedure for matching color isn't working

$

I want to make a layer in one image the same color as a layer in another image. In Photoshop Help, I found the topic "Match the color in different images."

I followed the instructions, making a selection in both the source and target images.

I made sure that the target layer in the target image was active.

I clicked Image, Adjustments, Match Color, and specified the source image, then clicked OK, or whatever the "execute" button says.

Nothing happened. Previously, following the identical procedure, the target image was filled with the desired color from the source image. The source is a .png. The target was not saved as anything yet, I tried making the target image a .psd.

I tried doing the operation with no area selected in the target image, and I tried selecting a section of the target image and then specifying "ignore selection."

The source has only one layer, "layer 0." I tried specifying both "Merged" and "layer 0" in the source image.

None of the above worked.

Any suggestions as to what is different or what I've missed.

Enable: field stays blank, instead of "all readable Document"

In Photoshop (v.13.0 x64) I go to OPEN any file, even an old PS document , and the files are all grayed out and not available, because the "Enable:" field at the bottom keeps being BLANK, instead of "all readable document" as I set it before.... It's defaulting back to this, see below....

The only thing changed in my iMac is adding more RAM this morning....

How do I fill the rest of an area that is partly filled or that borders a filled area?

I drew a trapezoid. I successfully used Edit > Fill to fill it with black.

I need it to be bigger, so I drew new edges, farther out from the old edges.

Now Edit > Fill will not fill the empty area between the original, smaller, trapezoid, and the new, larger edges.

Any suggestions?

Is the new MacPro running smoothly with Photoshop?

My current Mac is way too slow, old, etc. to handle the large files that I'm working on. The new MacPro would be great but are there major kinks and glitches that still need to get ironed out?

Thank you!

Good Afternoon.  I have both Photoshop CS4 (disc) and CS5 (download).  Camera Raw worked fine with both versions.  Then, my hard drive failed.  Both versions seem to have been loaded and downloaded to my new hard drive just fine, but I can't open any raw files with CS5.  CS4 works fine.  Any thoughts/suggestions on how I get the Camera Raw plug-in into CS5?  Thank you in advance!

Just doing simple things, like the video bellow.

http://dandalo.net/forum/photoshop-error/photoshop-error-720.mov

I opened an image and tried to crop it. In the end of the video, the error happens

I also ran an action, with canvas, smart sharpen and curves. The image size is nothing, 400px x 500px

I killed and reset PS, restarted the computer and then again, and again… : (

The other CC Apps are working fine with Maverick.

?: Which iMac would you recommend

Hello,

Well, ive been going round and round and round with regard to which machine im going to be purchasing. To spare you all the details, lol, ive had to find a couple of machines that will work for Photoshop along with our business as well. Ive been a Mac user for a long time and thought i was going to need to purchase a windows based machine, but i am going to be able to stick with Mac after all.

I have a MacBook Pro Retina and we are going to be adding an iMac to the mix. Given the following criteria, can you please give me your insight as to which machine you would recommend? Thank you very much for your time!

Here is my situation:

Im looking for an iMac for Photoshop CC and am not concerned about the screen size. The 21" would actually be a better form factor considering my work space, but a 27" would be fine as well.

I want to watch our budget but do not want to sacrifice performance if the difference between two choices is noticeable.

I rarely use two applications at once and i will be using only Photoshop with this machine most all of the time

Can you tell me if the 21" version would be your choice or would you opt for the 27"?

Which processor would you choose? Is there a noticeable difference between the i5 and i7 in Photoshop CC?

Is the limitation of 16GIG RAM something that would concern you if you could not expand to 32 for PSCC?

Are the displays comparable between the 21 and 27 in terms of brightness, color accuracy, clarity etc?

The fusion drive seem like the best option considering performance and economics. Do you agree?

Thanks again for your expertise and i hope to hear from you soon!

my best,

rick

Issue with Photoshop "save for web & devices" dialog box

$

Hi!

I'm using Photoshop CS5 and just loaded it to a 27-inch iMac computer. Screen resolution size is set to 1344 x 756. According to the system requirements, there should be plenty of space to see a full dialog box at that screen resolution. They say it should be at least 1024 or 1280.

However, when I work on a project and then hit "Save for web & devices," the dialog box that pops up gets cut off at the bottom of the screen so that the "save" and "cancel" buttons aren't showing (and other options on that line across the screen, such as zoom % etc.).

I try to click and drag on the right corner to expand or make the dialog box smaller, but it doesn't do anything. I try to increase or decrease the screen resolution. Again, no change. I try to command + or command - to zoom in or out. No change. The content in the dialog box does not get smaller so that the rest of the box's content including the save and cancel buttons will display.

Is this some sort of glitch with the system? I've used this program on several different computers now -- a 17-inch iMac and a 13-inch Macbook Pro, and I'm able to see the save and cancel buttons and the full dialog box when I loaded the Photoshop program on those computers. I can't understand why a much larger screen like this wouldn't be able to display the full dialog box.

How do I fix this? Do I need to uninstall the program and try to reinstall it? Will that make a difference? What else can I do? Why is this happening?

Thanks for your time and help!
