I just got my first Mac and downloaded Photoshop CC onto it. I opened my first photo and tried to save. I get a message that says " write access in not granted " what does that mean? and why can't I save my images?

When I try to open Photoshop, I receive 2 error messages:

Could not complete your request because the file name was not valid

Could not initialize Photoshop because the file name was not valid.

I don't have this issue with any other Creative Suite product.

I am on Windows 7, have tried uninstall/reinstall, have tried deleting the Settings directory, have tried creating a firewall rule for the Photoshop exe, and of course rebooting at every step. I've run out of Internet wisdom on this one. Here is the latest section from my log file:

PS CC can't open any files

I have PS CC installed on two devices, and on one of them it keeps telling me that it's a 30 days trial (I pay on an annual basis) and it wants me to write a code, which I haven't got.
- that's the one thing, and the other is that it won't open any kind of files no matter how I try.

Any ideas on what can be wrong?

Greetings, fellow users of the Adobe Community

My name is Mark and currently I am studying in the Netherlands (whereas I live in) and I am following an education that revolves around Creative Suite 6, making use of programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I've received the official package for my education from the school (that holds a key to use the pack for one concecutive year) which I am currently using. It worked out all fine, until I had a problem with Photoshop. The most simple actions there are (such as setting up a gradient) is extremely time consuming, and I have absolutely no clue what to do. Not even the teachers at my school know what the problem(s) is/are, and of course, neither do I. I decided to wait for a couple of days and hovered over to the Adobe Community and hope, that the users have had experience, or know the solution to this problem. I have ensured you lot to send over a some pictures, so that there may be a general understanding of the problem that I have. For those with the solution of something related to the 'Scratch Disk' being full, I am certain that that is not the problem as I have enough disk space left.

I would like to thank everyone in advance and please, let me know if you possess a solution!

I have an English version of Photoshop CS3. Since I upgraded to Mavericks it will not work. It opens, a blank window for the Adobe updater opens and that's it. I can only close them by force closing. Everything is inactive. I can't even access the deactivate or activate menu. I have updated the Jave, repaired, uninstalled, reinstalled, all to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions, besides shelling out $699 for CS6, which has problems too?

Title pretty much says it all.

I am new to Creative Cloud - and this forum, etc.

I purchased the $9.99 / month deal that Adobe is offering to new customers, etc.

Downloaded everything that I need to download (I think).

Tried to run Photoshop - but am being asked if I want to start my "trial"

or I have the option to "License This Software"

but where is the Serial Number for Photoshop & LightRoom 5?

I imagine it's right under my nose - but I do not see it anywhere.

The screen which appears (after I sign in) says:

Am I supposed to "Start Trial" or "License This Software"

To make things even more confusing:

I just ran LightRoom 5 for the first time.

There was a serial number automatically inserted in the space provided.

Not sure what's going on - but this is becoming a little overwheling.

I suppose it's the price I must pay for being an old fart!

I just upgraded to Photoshop CC and when I load my templates, I cannot see the layers which contain the photos, only the text and graphics. Has anyone seen this before?

I have a lot of templates and use clipping masks all the time in my old version and I don't want to have to make new templates.

Hi all

I've searched online but can't find a relative discussion or solution.

I have Adobe Photoshop CS3. My system is Windows 7 and it's 64-bit (that's about as far as my hardware/technical knowledge goes...).

The problem has only started happening today. Open PS, and go to FILE>OPEN. A sub screen is opened. On the left of this sub-screen are a variety of short cut locations such as 'My Documents', 'My Pictures' and 'My Computer'. Clicking on any of these shortcut tabs results in PS crashing.

The only thing I can think of that has changed since the last time I used PS CS3 on my machine (and I use it daily) is the following:

Installed trial version of Autodesk AutoCAD LT 2014

From this, to watch a Flash video of AutoCAD demo I had to download the latest version of Adobe Flash Player (it was 2011 I believe).

Following the CS3 crashing problems I uninstalled Flash player and re-started but still no luck.

Have not touched AutoCAD yet.

Any thoughts / comments? My company is looking to invest in AutoCAD so CS3 will need to learn to live alongside AutoCAD (IF AutoCAD is the problem, but I think this is unlikely).

It doesn't come from the computer (not BIOS beeps), but through the speakers. I've isolated it down to when I open a .psd file, any .psd file, I hear several beeps ranging from 5-13+ beeps. I think it might be a warning of some sort, I've checked my event viewer, but there isn't any log.

I think it may have something to do with the file size, the smaller the size, the fewer the beeps. The larger the size, the more beeps - i.e. a 7mb .psd file yielded 4 beeps, a 24mb .psd file yielded about 20 beeps.

Anyone else experience this? I just find it odd that it only happens in this application and only when I open a .psd.

Hi — when I attempt to render an animation in Photoshop CC I am finding the Adobe Media Encoder option greyed out. The only available option is to render a Photoshop Image Sequence. In CS5 I was able to use the Media Encoder to render Quicktime movies directly from Photoshop. Why would this have changed? Is this supposed to be happening? I'm on Photoshop CC 14.1.2, running on a Mac, OSX 10.9.

LIke I said, I sure hope somebody can help me out. Any suggestions would be appreciated. The only thing I could think that might be causing this is the fact that I upgraded to Maverick (Apple OSX) about 2.5 weeks ago. But this problem didn't start until about 3 days ago, so surely that's not the issue. Anyway, figured it was worth mentioning.

Getting an error message: Could not initialize Photoshop because of a program error. Is there any way to reload the program? Any ideas?
