I have a student license for adobe photoshop cs5. I had to verify that I was a student in order to get my license.
my computer burst into flames due to a brown out at my apartment. I'm hoping I can get a copy of cs5 and my licensing information again.
I'm in a sore way with school without photoshop.
Its getting so each time I use the program I'm starting all over again. Each and every update entirely wipes out my actions, my workspaces, any extensions etc. etc.
I can open a photo from Lightroom, do some edits and save that, but to open a project I'm already working on like an album ...is just hopeless. I literally spend an hour trying to get things back together and I'm so frustrated at the end of that I can't think straight so just give up on it. Tonite I went to edit a wedding album I'd started on a week ago and it's like I opened a different program.
Guideguide is gone and I've come to be using that a lot. My workspaces are all gone. My actions are all gone. My custom brushes are all gone ..what a nightmare.Since getting Creative Cloud my productivity is down the tube.
Do the geniuses at Adobe just enjoy watching the customers who provide their salaries struggle and squirm like this? With this happening the subscription service is of no value at all if they are gong to push updates the bully though everything the customer has done.Could you imagine taking your car in for service and getting it back without any of the accessories you'd installed after buying it or any of the personal belongings you'd left in it ...and find they'd reprogrammed your GPS and your audio system, reupholstered the seats, disconnected the power mirrors ..... Can anyone talk some sense into these people? For me ...I'll never learn the program now because its a different program every time I use it and nothing I do sticks.
On my mac OS Mavericks -
When I open a file, Photoshop gives the option to enable "All readable documents" or various other options. This is potentially very helpful when trying to find thing. However, when I restrict it, EVERYTHING is still displayed, but the invalid options are greyed out. This is almost useless as I still have to scroll endlessly to find what I"m looking for. I recall older times when the invalid options would simply not display at all, rather then just being greyed out.
Is something wrong with my mac? Anyone know a way out of this?

I have a shiny new Intuous Pro tablet (Win7) and have recently installed Photoshop CC2014. This afternoon, nothing brush-related seemed to work. Eraser, brushes, clone stamp, healing. They do work in Illustrator.
So after trolling for answers, I:
1. doubled checked I was on an unlocked layer set to normal blend mode and a color was selected (or a clone stamp area selected.)
2. in the pen tablet properties, I looked in the mapping tab screen and checked that "use Windows Ink" was selected (whatever that means. Other Photoshop users suggested it.)
3. I tried the brush, the clone stamp and the eraser in Photoshop. Nothing. Zip Nada.
Then, I looked in the Wacom desktop center. There was a notice that an update was available. After installing it and restarting my system, JOY!! Everything worked perfectly.
I am posting here even though it solved my problem because I saw a number of threads on similar issues while trying to figure out what to do.
I figured there might be some folk who would like to know. If you have not updated your driver since Aug 19 2014, you might want to do that first. Then be sure about steps 1.2.3.

I just downloaded the trial edition of photoshop cc. I love using the video time line and video layers for animating over the standard framee-by-frame animation. I wanted to know, is there anything new with the latest version of the timeline? I did a small amount of research but i couldn't stumble on much.
P.s. please don't reply with questions like "Why don't you use the frame-by-frame setting?" or "Photoshop cc is a scam!". If I wanted to know/give the answers to these questions I would have asked them.

I wanted to do some doodling in photoshop only to my horror discover that ALL my brushes are horribly degraded in quality when I attempt ot use them.
I'm seeing this happen in every document regardless of file type, color mode or bit depth.
What causes this issue and how can I revert things to normal again?

How do I place a watermark "behind" an image?
When importing RAW files in Photoshop why does camera raw 8.6 only import 1 size from canon 5d mark iii, in older versions I used to be able to import the files as larger images. It use to have a number of options for the images size. The option now is smaller than the maximum size used to be.

5d MKIII files aren't importing to Lightroom 6. Message that pops up is attached screenshot. Had no issues before until most recent update of LR6 software (5.6) and RAW conversion (8.6).
Camera Firmware is current (1.2.3), computer is updated OSX (10.9.4) and so are all other Adobe programs. I have also tried numerous memory cards and they have failed to import as well. Is there a setting that has been tweaked since the last update I need to change? Lost here...

hi, i have had a problem for a while now and i am not really sure why.
My problem is using the brush tool in Photoshop, while i am using it, it is fine, there are no problems but when i unclick to stop drawing on my trackpad and try to to scroll using two fingers on my trackpad nothing happens, my artwork doesn't move until i them command click back into the photoshop window, it then goes crazy and does all of the scrolling i tried to do before i command clicked back in.
The same sort of thing is happening with a lot of the other tools, when i use the spot healing brush the area selected stays the dark grey colour until i command click back into photoshop then it will heal the area.
The lasso tool shows the selection but does not start the marching ants until i command click again. The polygon lasso tool lags behind clicks, for example, when i click nothing happens, i then click again and nothing will happen, when i click for the third time the first two dots then connect, when i click again the next dots will connect but will never connect to the last dot until i click i join the shape up and click once more, which then makes the shape disappear.
I am having the same sort of problem with the clone stamp tool, the history brush, the eraser, the blur, sharpen, smudge, dodge, burn, sponge tools, i guess any tool that has a brush size. and all of the lasso tools. All of the other tools work fine to my knowledge.
I think it has something to do with apples track pad, today i tried using a mouse and it worked fine, i could draw a line and then scroll with the little ball in the apple mouse and it worked fine, but when i drew a line on my trackpad then tried to scroll with the mouse it didn't do anything until i command clicked. i then tried to click with the mouse and use the trackpad to scroll and that also worked fine.
Im currently using photoshop CC 2014 but i also had these issues in photoshop CC and i am pretty sure in photoshop CS6.

i also had the same problem with my 2012 Macbook pro 15.
i have searched for an answer to this but i can't seem to find anything on the internet, i had uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, i have reset all of the tool preferences, and deleted all of photoshops preferences when that didn't do anything.

Hope I named this topic aptly. I'm pretty new to the whole up/downsampling technique thing. In years of web design, I just never had any real need of it.
However, I ran into the following scenario:
We have a big PS file full of pixel art & photographs, some of both are smart objects. We'd like to resize a bunch of them, but need bicubic for some, nearest-neighbor for others.
Is there any way to set sampling techniques for each smart object?
(If not, where does one post feature requests? ;D)

I really hope someone can help me because i am at my wits end and totally confused.
Literally, in the last week, my lightroom and photoshop have started playing up.
Firstly, I noticed that some of my images, after being processed in lightroom then photoshop (photoshop being the final stage therefore saving image out of photoshop) they were not saving with the colours that I had processed them to - they got this sickly looking grey wash over them, especially when they were sent via email, or uploaded to the web. I discovered this was the colour profile causing this, with photoshop saving them as 'ProPhoto RGB' and if I then opened the image up in PS again and converted the profile (to sRGB IEC61966-2.1) the colours are perfect, both with web upload and email and anything else I use it for. I have tried changing the settings in lightroom (preferences - external editing) but photoshop still seems to automatically convert the images to 'ProPhoto RGB'. While this is obviously solvable by reopening the image in PS and converting the profile, I can't understand any this has suddenly started happening when it has never been an issue in all my 2-3 years of using the programs before, and when i am editing a whole wedding photo shoot, reopening each image to convert the profile is just not doable.
The second issue, which I can only imagine is related as it has only cropped up over the same time and I have never experienced it before,
is i do my usual basic processing in LR, then edit in PS, where I run actions over the images and tweak them - but suddenly, any balck and white image I send through to PS to run actions over, the action starts the first few steps, then crops up with an error 'Could not complete the command because that content type is not supported for this color mode.' (this always seems to be at a 'make adjustment layer', although there is always exactly the same step a few steps back that it managed, but gets to this one and doesn't know what to do). These actions have been run over B&W images thousands of times before with no problem so again, I cannot understand WHAT has happened and why this is happening?
I really hope someone can help me because I am TOTALLY confused and rather desperate.
(I am on LR 5.3, PS CC, running Florabella actions)
